Drawing inspiration from Dorothea MacKellar's My Country, this artwork celebrates a love of the Australian landscape and the deep sense of home and belonging it inspires. Collaged fragments of the poem and Australia's endemic flowering gum come together to evoke memories of place, connection and identity. The blossoms speak of the beauty that surrounds us, while the emerging buds offer hope, new beginnings and all that is still to come.
